Lens
Images formed by convex & concave lenses
Bend, split, and mix light — and see why it happens
From lenses, mirrors and the human eye to prisms, gratings, polarization and thin films — plus rainbows, the color of the sky and the photoelectric effect. 12 simulations you can touch and explore.
Three categories: rays and images, light as a wave, and color and the nature of light. Drag and slide to see rays and colors change instantly.

Change focal length, angle of incidence, wavelength or polarizer angle with sliders and drags, and watch the rays and colors respond.
Symbols such as the focal point (F) and center of curvature (C), and every colored ray, come with a legend and labels.
Every screen explains the physics behind it — the lens equation, Snell's law, Malus's law, E = hf and more.
English, Japanese, Chinese, Korean, Spanish, Arabic and 67 more. The app follows your device language automatically.
Every feature is free. No in-app purchases, subscriptions or sign-in. The only ad is a Pangle banner at the bottom.
Dark and light themes, landscape, iPad and tablets, and larger text. With VoiceOver or TalkBack, each screen reads out its result, such as whether the image is real or virtual or whether light is totally reflected. The simulations work offline.
The app is free. There are no in-app purchases, subscriptions or paid unlocks, and no account is needed.
A Pangle banner ad is shown at the bottom of the screen. On iOS, the App Tracking Transparency (ATT) prompt appears at launch, and ads are personalized only if you allow tracking. On Android, the app asks once whether ads may be personalized. Either choice can be changed later from "About" > "Ad settings".
Requirements: iPhone and iPad with iOS 15.0 or later; Android 7.0 (API 24) or later phones and tablets.
Free on the App Store and Google Play.
